The Giants Are Back!

The rains are over at Kabini. It was indeed a rare sighting to spot elephants during the safaris by boat or jeep, as the bushes had overgrown. Thanks to the monsoon, much vegetation was available for the grazing animals. Read more

During one of my recent drives into the Nagarhole National Park, I was lucky enough to spot a herd of 7 elephants close to a man made waterhole. Two of them were cooling themselves, one of which was a male calf probably around 2 to 3 years old. Read more

I went on an evening drive to the Nagarhole National Park recently. The monsoon is almost over and the weather is changing gradually, heralding the arrival of winter. As it was a very warm day, I decided to take my chances close to the waterholes, but wasn’t lucky though. During the drive, we made good sightings of a herd of Gaur, three Tuskers, a female Elephant that was carrying, and mock charged at us! Read more
