Nawaraj Tiwari

Originally from Kathmandu, Nepal, Nawaraj Tiwari is a Post Graduate in Environmental Science with specialization in Wildlife Management from the Tribhuvan Universtiy, Nepal. He has been involved in environmental projects such as Environ-Vision under the support of UNDP/GEF/SGP and quality assessment of lentic and lotic water bodies based on both physico-chemical and biological parameters. His other researches include riparian vegetation ecology, restoration success of Khatta biological corridor, ecology of Hispid Hare, etc. He was the Vice President of the Youth Network for Social and Environmental Development (YONSED). As a member of the Environmental Graduates in Himalaya (EGH) he helped to address issues of climate change and biodiversity conservation in the Eastern Himalayan Region. His interest in wildlife started while working with field Conservation Biologist Dr. Pralad B. Yonzon, during the buffer zone project in Chitwan National Park, Nepal. He then became a Naturalist at Singinawa Jungle lodge at Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh, where his interest in wildlife turned into a passion. His ambition is to help conserve wildlife in today’s human dominated environment.
