Lifescapes

The rhinoceros beetle is the weight lifting champion of the insect world.

It can lift 850 times its own body weight, making it one of the strongest living things in the world. To put this into perspective, if a human of average height and weight had the strength of the rhinoceros beetle, he would likely be able to lift an object weighing 65 tons.

As the day gets warmer, the crickets, grass hoppers, dragon flies, spiders, ants and termites along with a number of known and unknown species emerge out.

Above is a grasshopper in disguise. This little insect relies on its disguise that mimics a leaf to escape predators.
