Vineeth M

Hailing from Mysore, our district headquarters, Vineeth is an Engineer by profession, but a naturalist by vocation. He has a Bachelors Degree in Information Science and Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University and has worked in several technical BPOs.

Vineeth's interest in wildlife began right from his days in his hometown, Mysore, where he fell in love with the elephants of the famous Dasara festival. His engineering days later instilled in him a passion for wildlife and he was soon involved in trekking trails in the Western Ghats with Summiters Adventures Pvt. Ltd. This gave him ample opportunities to visit the jungles.

Changing track from his engineering background and realizing wildlife conservation as his vocation, Vineeth joined Agumbe Rainforest Research Station (ARRS) as a volunteer; shortly after, he was promoted as the Education Officer. He was the main Tracker and also guided volunteers on the King Cobra Radio Telemetry Project at ARRS. He conducted camps for school children as well.

His next project was the Line Transect Project at Bandipur National Park which grew in him a fascination for elephants. Six months later, he found himself as a Naturalist at Kings Sanctuary, Nagarhole, observing and gaining more knowledge on the pachyderms. He now looks forward to observe elephants at their best abode in Kabini.
